New to Music Together?

When you're a parent, you want to give your young child the very best. You want to expose them to every possible opportunity to learn and grow. At Music Together, this starts with creating a bond through music. Since 1987, we've introduced millions of children, parents, and teachers to the joys of music-making and the powerful benefits of having music in their lives.

Today, it’s common for us to only listen to music rather than create it ourselves. But actively making music is so important for children’s music and overall development. That’s why Music Together has never been more essential. Young children learn best through active exploration and live, meaningful interaction with the grownups they love. So we say, take out the earbuds and pick up the instrument we were all given at birt —ourselves!

Bringing Harmony Home

From babyhood through the early elementary years, Music Together nurtures each child’s natural musicality. In family classes, grownups learn together with their children and then re-create the fun at home with our recordings and songbooks. Our curriculum for schools is deeply integrated into the classroom experience all day long and then continues at home as family members use our music and home materials to further engage children—and experience some of the fun, too! This is just what young children need to develop a love of music.

Are You Expecting?

Your baby will be truly responsive to music even before they’re born! As an expectant parent, now’s the time to start on the pathway of music development for your newborn that will allow them to embrace, enjoy, and express their inborn musicality.

Babies

You don’t have to know how to walk or talk to enjoy a song. Your baby is ready to make some music! Read more about Music Together’s one-semester Babies Class, specifically created for parents with newborns under eight months old.

Toddlers

The Music Together program allows your toddler to learn in a playful environment that is musically rich and always supportive of their learning style and stage of development.

Preschoolers

A rich music and movement program develops not only music skills, but also skills essential for a well-rounded education. Your preschooler can get that—and more!—with Music Together, either as part of one of our family classes or when the Music Together In School curriculum is adopted by their school or childcare center.

Big Kids

Big Kids. They’re still kids—but they’re bigger. They have minds of their own and they know what they like. That’s what these classes are all about. Music Together Big Kids^® is a 60-minute class geared to the interests and abilities of 5-, 6-, and 7-year-olds.

Children with Special Needs

Music is in everyone. Our ears, our voices, our movements—these are tools for self-expression that boost confidence and lay the foundation for music-learning and all learning. And that’s all that children with special needs require to take part in Music Together.

Intergenerational Classes

Intergenerational Music Together classes are held at many locations around the country. Every day, in retirement homes, assisted living facilities, and adult day services centers, people from three or more generations come together to enjoy each other and make music.

Our Music

Each of Music Together’s nine song collections contains 25 songs. Our songs are unique, not only for their wide variety of tonalities, meters, and musical styles but also for their outstanding arrangements—which appeal to both children and their grownups. Listen for yourself!
